Achievements reward you for reaching milestones in your Japanese learning journey. They track everything from vocabulary mastery and practice streaks to community contributions.
Achievement Tiers
Every achievement belongs to one of four tiers, reflecting its difficulty and the XP reward:
Getting started
Building momentum
Serious dedication
Exceptional mastery
Categories
Achievements span five areas of the eevy experience:
Learning
Vocabulary milestones, kana mastery, cards reviewed, reading speed, and kanji progress.
Streaks & Consistency
Practice streak milestones (7, 30, 100, 365 days), total days practiced, and weekly or monthly consistency targets.
Content Creation
Creating collections, having your collections saved and rated by others, and reaching verified contributor status.
Community
Following other learners, gaining followers, writing helpful reviews, and forking collections.
Exploration & Discovery
Using the dictionary, listening to audio pronunciations, exploring conjugation details, and completing your profile.
Progression Chains
Many achievements are part of a progression chain: a series of increasing milestones in the same area. For example, vocabulary mastery progresses through four tiers:
Chains display as a single achievement showing your earned medals and progress toward the next tier.
Example progression achievement:
Wordsmith
Mastered 2,000 words
580 more words, on a roll
Rewards
Achievements can grant the following rewards when earned:
- XP: Bonus experience points added to your total, contributing to your level.
- Omamori: Protect your streak! Omamori (protective charms from Japanese shrines) let you take a rest day without breaking your streak. Streak achievements are the primary source.
- Titles: Special titles you can display on your profile, earned from the rarest achievements.
Repeatable Achievements
Streak achievements can be earned multiple times. If your streak breaks and you build it back up past the milestone, you earn the achievement again with a reduced XP reward. A counter badge shows how many times you've completed it.
Example repeatable achievement:
Week Warrior
x3Practiced 7 days in a row
