Setting items aside

Set aside takes an item out of your reviews without deleting it. Use it when you tried a collection out of curiosity and don't want every word coming back for weeks.

What it does

Nothing is deleted
The item, its accuracy, and its history all stay.
Neither due nor new
It never surfaces as a review and never fills a session slot.
Paused, not erased
Its place in the review schedule is kept, just frozen.

During a session

  1. Pause the session.
  2. Choose Set aside on the item.

The item leaves the session immediately, and your progress never rolls back.

This item leaves your reviews and stays out until you bring it back yourself. It won't return on its own.

At the end of a session

  1. The end screen offers Set aside for the whole session.
  2. A checklist opens with every item you studied, all rows checked.
  3. Uncheck what to keep. The button counts what remains.

Each row shows one item's:

  • Japanese
  • Reading
  • Meaning
  • Mastery level

Bringing an item back

Set aside lasts until you undo it. No timer, nothing expires. Find a set-aside item two ways: on the Mastery dashboard, or in the item's own activity panel.

  1. Open the Mastery dashboard.
  2. Find the item (the filter can narrow to set-aside items).
  3. Open its detail and choose Bring back.

It rejoins your reviews at the point its schedule had reached.
