Multiple choice shows a prompt and up to four options; pick the one that matches. The badge above the prompt names the ask: Choose the definition, Choose the reading, Choose the hiragana, and so on.
Answering
- Tap an option. Nothing is graded yet, so change your mind freely.
- Press Check to lock it in. The button reads Pick one until you choose.
- Read the reveal, then press Continue.
Your speed is measured to the tap that picks the option, so taking a moment before Check costs nothing.
After Check
- Your pick is checked against the entry: it counts right or wrong, no self-rating.
- The correct option is highlighted; a wrong pick is marked beside it.
- The panel names the answer. Tap the speaker to hear it, and on a word question, tap the answer itself for full word details.
Keyboard
- 1 to 4 pick an option.
- Enter checks it.
- Esc pauses; i opens word details.
When the clock runs out
- An option you picked counts as your answer.
- Nothing picked counts as a miss, and the item comes back sooner.
- Options long enough to stack into one column carry no countdown at all.
Options grow harder
As you get better at an item, its wrong options close in on the right answer: nearer meanings, words that sound alike, look-alike kana and kanji. An option that would also be correct is never offered.
Hidden readings
Some prompts keep their reading behind a toggle above the question. Peeking costs nothing, except on Choose the reading: there the peek hands over the answer's sound, so a correct answer after one comes back sooner.
